from the Financial TimesAbdullah Badawi said yesterday he would step down as Malaysian prime minister in March, clearing the way for Najib Razak, his deputy, to succeed him.
Mr Abdullah, who came to power five years ago, sought to introduce economic reforms and anti-corruption measures, but was blocked by resistance within his own party, the United Malays National Organisation.
He will hand over power to Mr Najib when Umno holds party elections in March to select a new leader.

What if BN MPs decide to move out of the coalition and become independent or join Pas, Dap or PKR or PSM?
